Hive Social Rolls Out More App Fixes, But Still Has A Long Way To Go
Home Tech Hive Social Rolls Out More App Fixes, But Still Has A Long Way To Go Hive’s latest update, version 2.1.2, brings back push notifications, improves image resolution, and
aims to make text input and interactions smoother. Hive Social this week introduced a slew of improvements to its iOS and Android apps as it eases back into the swing of things
following its temporary shutdown at the beginning of this month. The budding social platform has become a popular destination for former Twitter users who cut ties with that site
since Elon Musk took the helm. Hive, however, wasn’t necessarily equipped to handle such rapid growth, and has been working for weeks to address usability issues and bolster
security. SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Hive’s latest update, version 2.1.2, brings back push notifications — a feature that’s been broken for many users since the app came
back online in mid-December. It also comes with improvements to image quality, increasing the resolution of “avatar images, profile banners, post feed Items, and discover preview
images.” Version 2.1.2 should also make text inputs and basic interactions, like commenting and replying, smoother. Related: Hive Social Is Back Online: Here's What's Fixed With
The Update The Fixes Just Keep Coming In the release notes for the update, developers say Hive users will now see more comments displayed beneath posts, and that “hitting
‘reply’ auto-focuses comment text input.” Previously, some users reported that comments weren’t showing up consistently, nor were their replies. Hive will also now
auto-capitalize words at the beginning of a sentence when typing in a comment or post, and it’s improved the “search as you type” function. Text is also now selectable, per
the release notes. Hive will now “require users to accept [the] community guidelines and privacy policy,” an unsurprising move considering many users are looking to Hive as a
less toxic online gathering space. The update also brings improvements to mod tools. Unfortunately for users waiting on Hive’s other features to be fixed, like DMs or profile
songs, that’s it for the current update. On Twitter, though, amusingly, a Hive rep noted DMs are set to be fixed with an update rolling out next week. For those who are still
reporting the app isn’t working at all — of which there are many — they’ll just have to continue being patient if they want to stick with Hive Social. More: Elon Musk After
